The investment program for the extension of the production capacities in the head office shall increase the adherence to delivery dates, the quantities and the product quality. The investment projects in the segment standard blowers and compressors had already been realized with the construction of the new production center in 2008. In the next step, the construction of manufacturing and assembly settings has begun. This building is scheduled for the production sector medium- sized, large and customized machines (COM.PRESS reported).

Major project

It began with the demolition of an old hall and the start of the earthworks for the extension of the halls. 5.800 cubic meters of earth were excavated, 350 truck mixer supplied 2.100 cubic meters of concrete to cover an area of 2.500 square meters which will be used in future. The craftsmen used 200 tons of steel for the reinforcement. The building meanwhile completed consists of 220 concrete components and a steel construction of 136 tons. This construction holds the roof of the hall, the crane runway girder of 56 tons and it is the connection to the neighbour halls. The new building has a volume of more than 30.000 cubic meters in total. The roofing ceremony could already take place in April 2009 after three months of construction time.

Logistics optimized

Meanwhile production has started in the hall extension. Some new machines, a balancing machine, two CNC-machining centers as well as a “Dörries-Scharmann” boring machine being installed will be integrated into the production process. All these measures are taken to improve the material flow and logistics of the complete production process.
